In 2017, one of my goals was to donate $20.17 each month to a different charity or cause that I’m passionate about. I hope I introduced you to some great organizations and maybe even inspired you to join me in this monthly challenge!
Year in Giving
Instead of featuring one organization in December, I’m going to take you back through all the organizations I featured this year!
January – Girls Inc.
The mission of Girls Inc. is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We put our mission into practice through the Girls Inc. experience that equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow into healthy, educated and independent adults.
February – Race Forward
Race Forward‘s mission is to build awareness, solutions, and leadership for racial justice by generating transformative ideas, information, and experiences. We define racial justice as the systematic fair treatment of people of all races, resulting in equitable opportunities and outcomes for all and we work to advance racial justice through media, research, and leadership development.
March – She Should Run
She Should Run‘s mission is to expand the talent pool of women running for office in the United States by providing community, resources, and growth opportunities for aspiring political leaders. We believe that women of all political leanings, ethnicities, and backgrounds should have an equal opportunity to lead in elected office and that our democracy will benefit from the varied perspectives and experiences that women bring to leadership. We know that when women run for office they win at the same rates as men. Yet women are not encouraged and recruited at the same rate as men.
April – Changing Worlds
Changing Worlds exists to foster inclusive communities through oral history, writing and art programs that improve student learning, affirm identity and enhance cross-cultural understanding.
May – National Multiple Sclerosis Society
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society exists because there are people with MS. Our vision is a world free of MS. Everything we do is focused so that people affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever.

charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
