Lent: Week 6

This year for Lent, I worked through the Beauty in the Common Lent Guide. Part of this guide was a photo challenge. Here is my final week! If you missed them, check out week one, week twoweek threeweek four and week five.

Day 41: Beauty in Reflection

Happy Siblings Day! Looking back over the years, I’m constantly reminded of my brother’s caring heart. So proud of him!

Day 42: Beauty in Power

I love using my runs as my time alone with God. On this day, I listened to my small group’s podcast of the week and it centered on the story of Esther. I have always admired her story, but it was if she really came to life. After the podcast ended, I still had ~1 mile left so I put on the song “Daughter” by Sleeping At Last, which gave me chills. I felt so alive and filled with God during my run. It was truly powerful. The full version of my cover below can be found here.

“If you persist in staying silent at a time like this, help and deliverance will arrive for the Jews from someplace else; but you and your family will be wiped out. Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this.” -Esther 4:14

Day 43: Beauty in the Path

I’ve always been someone who enjoys the scenic route than the fastest route. You never know what you’ll experience along the way!

Day 44: Beauty in Family

I’m extremely lucky to have the family I do! As my mom says, even though our architecture is different, our family is still our family. #tbt

Day 45 – Good Friday: Beauty in Pain

‘It was my sin that held Him there, until it was accomplished. His dying breath has brought me life. I know that it is finished.’

Day 46: Beauty in the Unknown

If you would’ve asked me 6 months ago where I’d be right now, I would’ve told you I’d be living in the city. Yet, here I am still in the burbs and loving the community I have here. If you would’ve asked me 6 years ago if I’d ever think about running a marathon, I would’ve laughed at you and said no. Yet, this morning I ran 5 miles and am starting my #ChiMarathon training soon. I bet if you would’ve asked the Jews on the first Good Friday what the future held, they wouldn’t have even guessed in 2 days they would be celebrating death’s defeat.

Day 47 – Easter: Beauty in Light

He is risen! He is risen, indeed. Happy Easter!
