Lent: Week 4

This year for Lent, I’m working through the Beauty in the Common Lent Guide. Part of this guide is a photo challenge. Here is my fourth week! If you’re interested in joining me on this Lenten journey, check out the guide in the link above. If you missed them, check out week one, week two and week three.

Day 27 & 28: Beauty in Composition & Beauty in Growth

The composition, or story, of everyone’s lives are full of different challenges and experiences. Running is a journey that Ashlyn and I began together in 2010/2011 and here we are in 2017 taking on the Chicago Marathon. It’s easy to see our growth through our times, but growth is also evident in who we have become. While things have changed since we began this running journey, our love for breakfast food hasn’t changed a bit 😉

“Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” -Hebrews 12:1

Day 29: Beauty in Struggle

Trying to read while spinning at the gym is a struggle. For real though, even when I’m in a season where all I have is time, I still struggle to find time to get everything done.

“Slow down. Take a deep breath. What’s the hurry? Why wear yourself out? Just what are you after anyway?” -Jeremiah 2:25a

Day 30: Beauty in Architecture

This is my college sorority house. My favorite part of the house was the red front door. It’s a cute house for sure (it’s pretty magical in the winter, right?!), but the memories made there are even more special. Missing my sisters!

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” -1 Corinthians 13:13

Day 31, 32, 33: Beauty in Weakness, Beauty in the Rehearsed, Beauty in Shadows

I really don’t like being on stage, if I’m being honest. However, I’m working on it. I love worship music because unlike other stages, I’m not the center of attention, He is. I’m just a vessel to help people hear Him.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” -2 Corinthians 12:9
